The decision to close was hard, but unanimous among the committee. The nucleus of subscribing members has diminished slowly, as the years roll inexorably on. The committee wished at all costs to avoid the chance of starting a new season, uncertain about our ability to pay for the artists we had booked. We thank all who have supported the society in the past 34 years.
